Not too avoidant

First-Read:

For the first time in recent memory, McCain avoided all talk of Obama during his remarks today, instead focusing on the need for more green technology like the hybrid train engines being developed in Erie by General Electric, the parent company of NBC. Yet he did allude to his opponent's months-old "bitter" comment about small-town Pennsylvanian voters.

Note for MSNBC: It's not avoiding "all talk of Obama" when you allude to things he said.

In the wake of another negative, false McCain ad, I salute those in the traditional media who are pointing this out:

But when it comes to promises, it's worth pointing out that, according to the non-partisan Tax Policy Center's analysis of both candidates' proposed plans, Obama would cut taxes for those making in the range of $38,000 to $66,000 three to almost eight times more than McCain would.

If only others would follow this lead.

Wow

I just saw Roger Simon on Crossfire claiming that "respectable reporters" pounded John McCain on his false claim about Sen. Obama canceling his troop visit. Do tell what channel these reporters were on?

Michelle Bernard is great

As I've watched the MSNBC campaign coverage since the primaries, I've become more impressed with Michelle Bernard. She gives the most honest voice to how hard it is for a black man to run for President that you could hear on air. I know she's a Republican, but she really gets it. I remember her reaction when Sen. Obama clenched the nomination, and you could tell she was almost crying she was so proud/happy.

So, he's joining MSNBC. He's only qualification are a prematurely deceased father and a radio show he co-hosted with James Carville for a year. I'm not jealous at all that he gets to talk to Rachel Maddow on a regular basis. Honest.
